Handcrafted by volunteers at AERU, the African Elephant Research Unit in the Garden Route, Western Cape, South Africa. While the volunteers main purpose is to follow a high functioning captive herd of elephant, and record behavioural data for research and welfare, in their off time from the field, they help create items that AERU can sell to raise money for the research program.
MisHMasH donates 5% of the sale from these earrings back to elephant conservation efforts in Southern Africa, and all of the proceeds AERU receives from each purchase are donated directly back into their program for research and elephant enrichment projects.
